The book is in very good condition, with an inscription and date to the top corner of the fep. The pages are a touch tanned.
The dust wrapper is in very good condition and is not price clipped, with some wear and loss to the top/base and edges of the spine. The reverse side of the wrapper has been reinforced using sellotape by the previous owner. There is some loss to the top edge of the front cover, and the covers are a touch dusty. The wrapper comes in a clear unattached protective cover.

The first edition was published in 1939 and all copies were destroyed during an air raid on the warehouse. This new edition features the original illustrations coloured by the author.
